Saint Louis Ballet School believes in more than just a good dance education, we believe in arts education. Therefore, we offer a complete music program for all ages including Private Piano and Violin Lessons including the ability to train in the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program!
PIANO
Private Piano lessons are offered weekly in increments of 30/45/60 min class sessions and parents must call to schedule private lessons.
VIOLIN/VIOLA
Private Violin or Viola lessons are offered weekly in increments of 30/45/60 min class sessions and parents must call to schedule private lessons.
MUSIC TUITION
Piano and Violin/Viola Lessons: $30 per lesson paid monthly for 30 min lesson
(45 min=$45, 60 min=$60 per lesson charged monthly)
*books not included, students should have keyboard or piano at home for practicing, violins not included but can be rented (ask for information regarding rentals)
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Piano:
An upright piano is equipped in the Music Rooms at Saint Louis Ballet School.
Students should have a keyboard or piano availablel to them at hom for practice and homework. Music instruction books based on your level must be purchased by the student and will be determined by your instructor.

Violin and Viola
Instruments can be rented or purchased and Saint Louis Ballet School can recommend where the best places are to do so. Violins and Violas are not provided by Saint Louis Ballet School.
END OF YEAR RECITAL
Music students get a chance to perform yearly in the Music Recital.

WHY STUDY MUSIC?
"I took piano lessons for many years beginning at a young age and still enjoy playing casually. Obviously, as a dancer and a choreographer the skill of counting rhythms and understanding music has really helped me, however, even in my everyday life I have a great appreciation for classical music and rhythms and am so grateful of having learned how to play an instrument. I am so proud that we are able to offer this music program and love hearing our students make music at St. Louis Ballet School."

Brad Ellebrecht
Classical and Jazz/Improvisational Piano Instructor - Wednesday and Thursday instruction
Mr. Brad Ellebrecht is a pianist, composer, and educator in the St. Louis area. He graduated from Webster University with a B.M. in jazz studies-piano performance. He has over 10 years of teaching experience, teaching a variety of ages and musical styles - including jazz and classical. In 2012, Brad performed a three city concert tour with violinist Rob Griepentrog featuring original music he wrote for piano and violin. He appreciates many kinds of music and has played in a wide variety of musical settings, including rock bands, jazz groups, choral ensembles, and church music ensembles.

Olga Sedycias
Classical Piano - Monday and Tuesday instruction
Ms. Sedycias has enjoyed a versatile musical career as a solo and collaborative pianist in South America and the U.S. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Webster University in St. Louis. In the United States, she played solo recitals in Florida and Missouri and accompanied opera singers in New Jersey and New York. Mrs. Sedycias has taught piano privately and in music schools both in the U.S. and abroad at all levels. In Brazil, Mrs. Sedycias won prizes in several piano competitions and extensively performed chamber music recitals throughout the country. In Europe, Mrs. Sedycias was the featured artist in a recital in Holland, which was recorded live. As a soloist, Mrs. Sedycias has played with orchestras in Brazil and United States.

Julia Smith Classical Piano - Saturday instruction
Mrs. Julia Smith graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in Moscow Russia where she earned a Master's and a Bachelor's degree of Music, both with Highest Honors. Julia has taught music, piano and flute for over 20 years from the basic beginner to the most advanced of performers. Julia has performed hundreds of concerts with the top orchestras in Russia, including as soloist for the State Symphony Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, Music Theater of Opera and Ballet Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. Julia has worked under many famous conductors, including Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Polyansky and Vladimir Fedoseev. Julia has performed at the Bolshoi Theater, Carnegie Hall, State Kremlin Palace and major venues around the world including Russia, USA, Germany, England, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Kaoru Wada Violin and Viola Instruction
Ms. Kaoru Wada has experience teaching violin, viola and piano to a variety of ages. With a Master of Music in Performance from Webster University, a Graduate Diploma in Performance from St. Louis Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Musashino Academia Musicae (Tokyo, Japan), Ms. Wada also is an experienced professional musician. She has performed with the American Kantorei Orchestra, St. Louis Chamber Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, National Orchestral Institute, National Repertory Orchestra, Spoleto Festival Orchestra (U.S.A. and Italy) as well as substituting in the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Tokyo Symphony. She has taught for over 13 years at the college level including UMSL, St. Charles Community College and the Community Music School of Webster University.

Kimberly Werner
Classical Piano (daytime instruction)
Kimberly Werner earned a M.M. in Piano Accompanying and Vocal Coaching from Westminster Choir College of Rider University (NJ), where she also studied harpsichord, and a BA in Music (Piano Performance) from Wheaton College (IL). Since moving to St Louis in 1997, she has been a Staff Accompanist at many area colleges and universities and also for Opera Theatre of St. Louis as part of their Artist-in-Residence, Artist-in-Training and Festival Season programs. She has also been on staff as pianist with the Opera Festival of New Jersey and Wichita Grand Opera. Mrs. Werner has served as an organist for many churches in Alabama, New Jersey, St. Louis, as well as for the McConnell Air Force Base Chapel. As an accomplished singer, she has been a part of many select ensembles, most notably the Princeton Singers, under the direction of John Bertalot and the St .Louis Chamber Chorus, under the direction of Philip Barnes. Mrs. Werner has been a part of many summer festivals and programs, both as a participant and staff accompanist, such as the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria and the Institute for Advanced Vocal Studies in Paris, France, as well as many master classes with Martin Katz and Dalton Baldwin. She completed additional studies in chamber music and piano pedagogy at Temple University (PA). She has taught piano for many years, both in her home and also with the St Louis Symphony Community Music School, Meramec Community College, and Temple University. She currently resides in Sunset Hills, MO with her husband John and their three children, Michael, Gabriel and Lili.
