Keep us on our toes!
Did you know that professional ballerinas go through an average of 25 pairs of pointe shoes per season? (Try saying that five times fast!). In addition, because of tight budgets they need to conserve and make last longer the shoes they are allowed despite truly needing more to perform at their best. And if performing more principal roles, a ballerina may use 2 pairs in one evening's performance.
We need your help to supply more easily these beautiful tools, these custom-made pointe shoes to our SLB ballerinas.
We have started the Saint Louis Ballet Pointe Shoe Fund, so that you can support a dancer by purchasing a pair of pointe shoes or even several pairs for her 2015-2016 season. Your donation qualifies you for Membership Benefits as well!
