All ballet students are required to have their up in a ballet bun for classes.
How to Make a Ballet Bun:
Supplies: Hairspray, Brush, Comb, u-shaped hairpins, ponytail holder, hairnet that matches the color of your hair.
1. Brush hair in an upward diagonal and gather into a ponytail. Use hairspray and water to tame fly away hairs and secure with a ponytail holder. 2. Spray ponytail with a little water and twist ponytail OR you can Braid the ponytail as shown in the images on the right.
2. Twist the ponytail or braided ponytail tightly and coil it around the elastic, securing with U-shaped pins as you go.
3. Once the ponytail is completely coiled around itself (with the end tucked under the rest of the bun) and has been adequately secured with pins, wrap a hairnet (or two, depending on how thick the hairnets are) over it. Secure with some more U-shaped pins.
